PROPERTY ACCOUNTANT (COSTA MESA)

DEPARTMENT: ACCOUNTING/OPERATIONS

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintains cash and accrual general ledgers
  • Accounts Receivable – monitor cash receipts, review and bill tenant charges/adjustments
  • Accounts Payable – review invoice coding and approvals
  • Maintains rent rolls, aging reports, and support schedules
  • Prepares monthly account reconciliations
  • Prepares month-end close journal entries
  • Prepares and maintain monthly work papers
  • Produces monthly financials according to the established schedule and analyze results
  • Prepares quarterly and annual CAM reconciliations and supporting documentation for tenant billings
  • Assists with annual budget preparation
  • Work with accounting and property management team on special projects as assigned

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • 2 + years of experience in an accounting role
  • Must be able to work well independently and as part of a team
  • Must have advanced proficiency in Microsoft products especially Excel

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS

  • Real Estate/Property Management experience preferred
  • Knowledge of accrual accounting
  • Proficient in Accounting Software: AppFolio, QuickBooks
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple properties simultaneously in a deadline driven environment
  • Professional work ethic and integrity
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to interact with multiple levels within an organization
