Matthews™ Brokers the Sale of $19.35M Walmart Supercenter on Behalf of DDR

Greenville, South Carolina — Matthews Real Estate Investment Services™ recently sold a 200,084 square-foot Walmart Supercenter NNN asset in Greenville for $19.35 million.  El Warner, EVP and National Director, and Scott Henard, SVP and Regional Director for the Matthews™ Shopping Center Division, led the transaction on behalf of the seller, DDR Corp. (DDR), and sold the property to an undisclosed public REIT.

Located at 1451 Woodruff Road, the property is situated at the intersection of Woodruff Road and Interstate 385. Built in 1997, the asset is conveniently located in a strong regional corridor along one of the busiest thoroughfares in Greenville. Sam’s Club, Whole Foods, Kohl’s, Lowe’s Home Improvement, Best Buy, Marshalls, HomeGoods, Total Wine, Costco, Target, Home Depot, Hobby Lobby, Cabela’s, and Publix are among many of the other national anchors located in the immediate area.

“This is a strong asset with great credit and we were able to generate a lot of interested 1031 investors, as well as numerous public and private groups,” said Henard. “Our team ultimately chose a group who made an all-cash offer and closed quickly. The buyer chose this property due to the asset’s strong performance, regional location and proximity to two major interstate interchanges—I-385 and I-85.”
