National Brokerage Announces Miles Cortez as Vice President & Director

Denver, CO — Matthews Real Estate Investment Services™, a commercial real estate investment services and technology firm, welcomed tenured real estate finance strategist Miles Cortez as vice president and director. Based in Denver, Cortez will work within Matthews ™ Capital Markets (MCM), the firm’s dedicated financing division, focusing principally on hospitality.

Bringing an established track record of leading complex finance transactions across private equity, venture capital, and public markets, principally in the hospitality sector, Cortez joins Matthews™ with decades of experience. Prior to Matthews™, Cortez founded and remains a principal at SparkPoint Real Estate Advisors in Denver. In addition, Cortez led the institutional client efforts at F10 Hotels, one of the nation’s most active mortgage brokers in the hotel industry, where he led over $500 million in financing, including a landmark CMBS refinance for a major private equity client. Earlier in his career, Miles co-founded Aventine Capital Partners, where he played a pivotal role in the $1B+ development of Mayakoba, a master-planned luxury resort in Mexico, collaborating with top-tier brands like Rosewood, Fairmont, Viceroy, and Hyatt.
