Matthews™ measured investor insight and their predictions for 2024. A soft-landing recession is widely expected, with 67% of investors predicting its occurrence. Furthermore, the market downturn is anticipated to persist for a significant duration, with 37% believing it will extend beyond a year. Interestingly, no rate hikes are expected throughout 2024, as indicated by 75.2% of respondents. Additionally, Artificial Intelligence is poised to make a significant impact, with 60% of investors acknowledging its potential influence on commercial real estate over the next five years. In terms of investment strategy, opportunistic and value-add approaches are favored, collectively representing 80.4% of investor preferences Overall, the survey indicates cautious optimism amid expectations of economic shifts and technological advancements in the real estate market.
