Our growing research division produces industry-leading insights for investors, owners, developers, and lenders across the U.S. This includes our internal deliverables and our newsletter, The Matthews Market Pulse, which publishes weekly analyses for thousands of subscribers and followers on social media.
We are seeking a Research Analyst with knowledge of CRE investment markets and a strong background in economic principles. This individual will help shape the voice of Matthews Research by authoring and editing research reports covering individual markets, national trends, and macroeconomics.
This role is based in our Nashville, TN office.
Overview
The Research Analyst will analyze commercial real estate trends and macroeconomic indicators. They will transform these into high-velocity, high-quality written and visual content designed to grow Matthews’ brand with institutional and high-net worth investors.
This Role Requires a Unique Blend Of
- Analytic thinking and economic analysis
- Ability to interpret and shape large datasets
- Exceptional writing and storytelling for a professional audience
- Taking complex problems and messy data and turning into direct and valuable insights
Key Responsibilities
- Track CRE metrics like construction, vacancy, and net absorption
- Create quarterly market reports to include written analysis, statistics and market activity, which may include drafting or editing with AI tools.
- Manage the production of other deliverables released by Research
- Author research papers to analyze the effects of policies on commercial real estate
- Present market overviews to leaders and brokers.
- Analyze indicators needed to generate market forecasts for important KPIs
- Respond to inquiries for information by completing advanced research
- Create ad-hoc or regular deliverable slide decks that help clients navigate the market
Qualifications Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Economics preferred, Real Estate, Finance, or related field welcome to apply.
- 0-3 years of experience in real estate. Active investment in Real Estate is a plus.
- Ability to write very quickly without sacrificing accuracy. Attention to detail is critical
- Comfortable interpreting complex datasets and building charts on short notice.
Salary Range – $50,000 – $70,000
