Matthews™ FVP & Associate Director Named Dealmaker of the Year by ApartmentBuildings.com

ATLANTA, GA— Matthews™ First Vice President and Associate Director Connor Kerns has been recognized by ApartmentBuildings.com as a recipient of its AB 100 Dealmaker of the Year Award.

 

The AB 100 Dealmaker of the Year Award recognizes professionals who demonstrate creativity, skill, and success within the multifamily industry, highlighting dealmakers whose transaction activity, market expertise, and leadership have made an impact across the sector.

 

Kerns was recognized for his work advising clients on the acquisition and disposition of multifamily assets throughout the Atlanta MSA and broader Southeast. In 2025, he co-led the $44.75 million sale of Loray Mill Lofts, a 189-unit adaptive reuse community in Gastonia, North Carolina, that also includes approximately 75,000 square feet of commercial space. He also represented the seller in the sale of The Apex, a newly constructed 144-unit Class A multifamily community in Tifton, Georgia, and led the $17.4 million sale of a four-property student housing portfolio near Clemson University in South Carolina.

 

In addition to his transaction experience, Kerns serves as a leader within Matthews™’ multifamily platform, mentoring agents across the Southeast and providing market knowledge and transaction expertise. He also leads training sessions for interns and new hires, supporting professional development and a culture of collaboration across the firm. Kerns was previously recognized by GlobeSt. as a 2023 Influencer in Multifamily and is a recipient of the Matthews™ Chairman’s Award.
