Silverlake Ramen

Challenge
Silverlake Ramen, an LA-based ramen restaurant, was at the beginning of their expansion, with only two Los Angeles locations. The Matthews™ team, Associate AJ Ramnath and Senior Vice President and National Director, Michael Pakravan, were given the assignment of finding a location in Downtown Los Angeles for the tenant.

Strategy
Leveraging market knowledge and current private-client relationships, Matthews™ was able to find an off-market opportunity on Spring and 6th Street. Once securing this location, the Matthews™ team built their relationship with Silverlake Ramen and truly comprehended the concept. According to Founder and President of Silverlake Ramen, Jitaek Lim, “Michael and Aditya have a deep understanding of our brand and culture, and through in-depth market knowledge and industry relationships have spearheaded our growth in the marketplace.”

Results
Since then, Matthews™ has helped find locations for both corporate and franchisees all over the United States. “We’ve had the pleasure of helping their concept grow from a 1,200 square foot mom-and-pop restaurant in Silverlake, to a national culinary phenomenon and a nationally recognized brand,” said Senior Vice President & National Director of Retail Leasing, Michael Pakravan in a recent press release. Matthews™ has brokered nine Silverlake Ramen transactions in various locations across California, Texas, and North Carolina.

Silverlake Ramen currently has 11 locations with eight new locations coming soon. Silverlake Ramen can be found in some of the country’s most exciting retail projects, including Irvine Spectrum in Irvine, CA, Chapman Plaza in Los Angeles, CA, Bella Terra in Huntington Beach, CA, and 3rd Street Promenade in Santa Monica, CA. The restaurant chain was voted as one of the Top Ramen Spots in LA by Zagat, the top pick for Best Ramen in LA by Califoreigners, and the most popular spot on the Eastside by Timeout.
